A Call to Serve
Searsport town Emergency Management Agency and the Towns Public Safety office is calling for volunteers to establish a town Community Emergency Response Team.
The CERT Program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. Using their training, CERT volunteers can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an emergency and can take a more active role in preparing their community.
CERT volunteers receive free training through a basic 21 hour-course.
With additional training in monthly continuing education sessions.
Be Involved
After joining the Searsport CERT, volunteers will have opportunities to participate in disaster exercises, promote emergency preparedness at community events, and respond to disasters in coordination with emergency responders in Searsport.
