Searsport Cargo Port

Searsport is located at the heart of Penobscot Bay. The port has recently undergone a major reconstruction effort positioning it to effectively serve the needs of shippers moving product both into and out of Maine, and through the onsite rail yard of the Central Maine & Quebec Railway, to provide service to the heartlands of both the US and Canada.

In June 2020, Canadian Pacific Railway (now CPKC) officially completed its acquisition of the Central Maine and Quebec Railway (CMQ). The purchase allowed Canadian Pacific to reacquire lines it had sold decades earlier, creating a coast-to-coast network across Canada with direct access to New England ports like Searsport, Maine, and Saint John, New Brunswick.
