Carver Memorial Library is Searsport Maine's public library, and has been serving the people of Searsport since its founding in 1910 by the heirs of Captain George A. Carver. 

 

Mission

Honoring Searsport’s heritage, the Carver Memorial Library is an anchor for the community and a vessel for life-long learning by providing access to information, ideas, and technology.

 

History

The original building was built in 1909, a gift from the Carver family in memory of Captain George A. Carver. The stones in the façade are from the family’s property on Moose Point. Stop in to discover more Carver facts and explore its role in Searsport history!
